How to Measure Your Wrist Without a Ruler (and With One)

[Step 1] Find a String or Strip of Paper
Select a piece of string or paper strip that can wrap around your wrist.
[Step 2] Wrap Around Your Wrist
Wrap the string or paper strip around the widest part of your wrist, just above the wrist bone.
[Step 3] Mark the Overlap Point
Mark the point on the string or paper where it meets around your wrist.
[Step 4] Use a Credit Card for Approximate Measurements
If you don't have a ruler, use a credit card. Measure the length of the string using the width of the credit card, which is approximately 3.37in or 8.5cm.
[Step 5] Measure with a Ruler for Accurate Measurements
a) Without a Ruler:  Compare the marked section of the string to the width of the credit card for an approximate measurement.
b) With a Ruler:  For a more precise measurement, lay out the string or paper next to a ruler and measure the length of the marked section.
[Step 6] Use an Online Ruler for Immediate Measurements
If you're without a ruler or a credit card, an online ruler is a convenient alternative. Click the button below to be taken to a website with a virtual ruler. Make sure to calibrate your screen size on the website to ensure accurate measurements. Then, place the marked string or paper against the virtual ruler displayed on your screen to determine your wrist size.
